Dear all,
Everyone was expecting that date (01-05-2010)..... Some one has sleepless nights due to the anxiety to meet friends after 20 years. Some one are tensed due to the arrangements... Some one are nerveous to meet the lecturers.
Each one has a seperate feelings for the day to come.
Finally that day came and everyone are entering the hall one by one with family. Great effort made by Suri and family for the reception table arrangments. (came very first for the arrangment). Suri, Antony, Ganeshkumar, Vanni all are the first attendees.
I was feeling tensed as I was going very late at 9:40. My goodness. I am the first apart from the above said four gems. Seeing Ganeshkumar, Anthony and Vanni after a very long time. Hall was filled with A/C eventhough I got sweat in my head (balled). More tensed on meeting every friend.
Around 10 am I receive Mr.Chandramohan (uncle) and am really surprised by his visit. Very perfect man asking still u dont start the function..???? We are all tensed again by this question, even though managed "Sir we are still remaining the same and you are also still remaining the same....."
Next another surprise....
I saw Principal walking towards the hall. Dont know what to do... Still having the same tension while seeing the Principal... Wish him and welcome him.. He was really happy by our reception and make him to sit with Mr.Chandramohan and we got a narrow escape.
Mr.Chandra Mohan was interestingly seeing the book and he particularly asked "Partha Sarathy"'s photo, who is this guy? I feel i have meet him.. I said he has studied at Lions School and may be you have seen him often. Partha, If you have chance please meet him.
Time is moving up, and we receive Nandeeswaran. Same man, little aged look, came with his son and he simply remember me and calling me "Duraiappa...." My God, how this can be... After twenty years... and I have a dramatic change in my appearance, but still he can remember me. Later i found, he remembers everyone in our group. I could realise, due to this very good memory, still Nandeeswaran is managing at that college..
Waiting at the reception, I saw a lady, short haired, coming in a scooty driven by a teenage girl. Vanni informed me thats madam, lets welcome her.
We just went near them and invited them. Oh my God, Madam also recognise me and calling me "Duraiappan". That teenage girl was her daughter and see resembles her father a lot.
Madam, not a big change. Change in hair, added little weight...
She is very much happy while entering the hall.
Meanwhile i receive, Anand, Ganesan, (very late comer due to train delay) and Saravanakumar, (father of two very naughty kids and a very responsible father taking care of them in peace), R.Selvam, Ganeshkumar, Anthony and the great Murugan.....
Almost most of the invitees have entered and we dont want to delay further, and hence Ganeshkumar gave a small welcome, followed by prayer song by my kids. Vanni give a welcome address.
Meanwhile HOD, E.K.Nagarajan also joined the hall. VRR, P.Selvam and Rams joined the hall little bit late but not late...
Next, Birthday celebration of Saravanakumar was done by cutting cake with his family members.
And another big cake was cut by principal and other lecturers to initiate the meet with a sweet cake.
A small PPT was shown by myself having pictures taking during our college days. I hope everyone enjoyed that.
Next its the time for family introduction.
Start with Anand. Anand make a intro about him and his family and he read a small tamil poem, a very good one at that stage.
Next Antony, Myself, Ganesan, Ganeshkumar, Murugan, ARR (by his video ), VRR, Rams, Saravanakumar, P.Selvam, R.Selvam, Suri and Vanni.
Eachone introduce themself and their family and friends comment about eachone.
There are many sensational moments during this time.
After this, we invite our lecturers to have a small speech.
Each one have a excellent speech and we could enjoy how much they have enjoyed this meet. Principal asked us why we have not arranged the function at our college venue??? Mr.Chandra Mohan request us to celebrate the 25th year celebration of our department coming next year at our college. EKR has very less words to speak. Madam, was really emotional but she controlled her tears during her speech.
Then Ganeshkumar remember some incidents (exhibition at Mepco) and explained how madam helped us during those days. On hearing this Principal was really surprised and he said I know how good Madam work at college, but i really dont know how much she was involved with our batch.. A great applause to madam.
And then Nandeeswaran share his words and showed his happy feelings.
Vanni played a PPT thanking our lecturers.
We have a group photo on stage with our lecturers.
We have kids dance and singing rhymes and each kid is given a prize for it.
We gave memontos to our lecturers and Madam distribute the gifts to all families.
Finally we have our delicious lunch session and lecturers say good bye and leave us from the hall.
Later gems shared some lighter moments with everyone and kids are busy playing and its a surprise that many kids have merged and started playing... wow, what a scene... Ganesan's son a real naughty boy and Suri's sons are real rowdies. VRR's daughters great dancers and also great in mischeif. Still i hear the sounds made by kids in mike. Suri's little son singing "Adada adada....." song from Paiya.
And then one by one leaving the hall saying bye as it was nearing 3:00.
Hearts are hardened as its time for leaving the hall as well as the joy we have for nearly 6 hours after 20 years.
A great start by Ganesan, by his initiation for this group and upto this meet. Great job da ganesa. Supporting him Vanni silently at many occassions.
Local gems had a very great work. Ganeshkumar take care of complete event management, Anthony taking care of hall arrangements, Suri and Selvam taking care of Printing... Joint effort to buy valuable gifts.
And from others gems, great effort to join the meet and active participation. ARR shows his interest by his call and video msg. Thanks ARR.
Still we miss many gems, Partha, Kicha, Risk, Mannan, Marimuthu.....
This detailed mail is for those gems who really miss this Great Meet which I cannot forget in my life time.

ReplyDeleteஇருபது வருடங்கள் கழித்து சந்திப்பது மறக்க முடியாத நிகழ்வு தான். புகைப்படங்களின் கீழே யார், யார் என்று குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தால் அருமையாக இருந்திருக்கும்.
எனது மகன் சரவணனும் சிவகாசி அய்ய நாடார் ஜானகி அம்மாள் கல்லூரியில் தான் 2003 ஆம் வருடம் M.Sc., முடித்தான்.
மனப்பூர்வ வாழ்த்துகள்.
